'Enso' collection

 

These designs have evolved from throwing with dark clay. Although I love dipping the glaze I wanted to explore the textures and patterns I could achieve using a brush on these oriental inspired shapes.

 

I came across the 'Enso' circle and loved the idea of creating a mark using one breath, with intention. As I practice meditation and mindfulness this really struck a chord with me - it was

one of those moments when things just start to fit together.

 

Sometimes I admit its more than one breath, but the idea of using uninhibited brushstrokes to express a moment when the mind is free to let the body create is quite special to me.
